[Arrested Development] Filling in the Blanks (George Michael/Maeby)
Title: Filling in the Blanks
Fandom: Arrested Development
Length: 143 words
Prompt: Three-Sentence Fic-a-thon: Arrested Development, George-Michael/Maeby, marriage makes Maeby feel ______.
Pairing: slight George Michael/Maeby; mentions of Tobias/Lindsay
Other: S3 spoilers.
Excerpt: Marriage makes Maeby feel confused, with a dollop of shame and more than a little dash of uncertainty.
Marriage makes Maeby feel confused, with a dollop of shame and more than a little dash of uncertainty. George Michael is so weirdly nice about it, and she thinks he likes being married to her, which is just odd, because they're related after all, and from her parents she's derived the idea that marriage is some sort of demented torture that adults visit upon themselves when they can't think of anything better to do.
Her relationship with George Michael is nothing like a marriage; he laughs and pays attention to her and makes stupid jokes she is supposed to laugh at, too, and that's part of what makes her so uncomfortable, because sometimes she does laugh, and he is a nice guy, but something about this whole thing is just a little off-kilter, because she thinks she might like it a little too.
