Excerpt: Will is used to the idea of her OCD; it is, after all, pretty much impossible to ignore once you've known Emma for any length of time.
Will is used to the idea of her OCD; it is, after all, pretty much impossible to ignore once you've known Emma for any length of time. But adjusting to it in a relationship is slightly different, and he has to hide his impatience when she checks the stove a third time before going out, or cleans the seat at a nice restaurant.
It takes time, but finally he realizes that he's coping-- better than coping; he smiles sweetly at her as she scrubs carefully at her piece of fruit, and when someone says jokingly, "It's almost as if you love her for it," he nods; it isn't that he loves her because she has OCD, or even despite it, but it's okay because it's part of who Emma is, and he loves all of her, good and bad.
