Summary: Syaoran takes Sakura star-gazing on a magical night.

"I've never seen so many stars," Sakura said in an awed tone. I nodded.

"I thought you would like it."

"I love it, Syaoran-kun," she said, snuggling a little closer to me on the blanket. This was the best time we'd gotten to spend together in months. With high school entrance exams coming up, everyone had been working too hard. But finally I decided that we had to take a little bit of time to relax, so I had rented a campsite for tonight and taken her out into the refreshingly calm wilderness. I knew she loved stars, so I had made sure that this place had a great, wide open sky.

"Look, it's the Big Dipper," she said, reaching up and tracing her finger along the form. "And there's the little one..."

I wasn't one of those people who saw nature as magical. I knew what true magic was, but I wasn't surprised to feel it in the air tonight. The moon was full and Sakura's power strengthened by the clear skies. There was magic in the air here, in the skies and in the darkness, and yes, in the way she looked at me, that sweet gaze that meant her eyes were brimming over with happiness, but she wouldn't release the tears.

"I love you," she said, and the magic curled around the words and pressed them down on us warmly. On a night like tonight, things happened, even if we ourselves did not dip our fingers into the threads of hitsuzen. On a night like tonight, words had power.

"I'll love you forever," I said, and was pleased to feel the forces surge in answer, and the way she gently rested her head on my chest.

"There's Orion," she pointed out, and I nodded, and I squeezed her hand. The stars themselves would fall, I thought about saying, before I ceased to love her. But that was sappy, so I just gazed up at the sky and smiled.
