[xxxHOLiC] What We Do Every Day (Clow/Yuuko)
Title: What We Do Every Day
Fandom: xxxHOLiC
Length: 448 words
Prompt: Domesticity fic: Clow/Yuuko, teasing Watanuki together for
measuringlife
Pairing: Clow/Yuuko; Doumeki/Watanuki
Other: Post timeskip and a little weird.
Excerpt: "Yuuko said that Doumeki-kun was coming by later," Clow said. "We have decided that it's time to give you the Talk about boys."
Sometimes, Watanuki really regretted his choice to stay in the shop. He could have been totally free of spirits, just like Yuuko had promised.
Now he had two who were-- more or less-- living with him. And they didn't drink ghost alcohol. Watanuki wasn't exactly sure how that worked, but apparently Clow had more magic than any man had a right to, and Yuuko was quick enough to learn when booze was involved.
So when he woke up with her staring down at him, he growled, "Get off the ceiling!" and stumped his way to the bathroom. She giggled. When he emerged, Clow wrapped a companionable arm around him. (It felt like just a tickle against his skin, a shiver, and it made him prickly and irritable when they did that, except for the first time, when his wish was granted and they'd shown up at the shop together. He'd waited for her to come back, and she had, with this ridiculous ancestor of his in tow, but now, she told him gravely, if she left the shop it would have to be a return to the afterlife, and no matter how annoying she got, he wasn't ready to send her away yet.)
"Yuuko said that Doumeki-kun was coming by later," Clow said. "We have decided that it's time to give you the Talk about boys."
The witch emerged partly from the wall, her legs remaining in the next room. If he'd thought he hadn't had any privacy from Yuuko before, he certainly didn't now.
"We have neglected this part of your education," she agreed, her tone grave though mischief sparkled in her eyes. Watanuki scowled furiously. He liked mornings, but it was too early for this.
"He's just coming to bring groceries. And to eat all of them, most likely." He crossed his arms. At first, Clow had seemed like the sensible one between himself and Yuuko, but "sensible" relative to Yuuko gave him a lot of leeway. Once she'd taught him how to get a rise out of Watanuki, he'd been right there beside her with the tormenting. He shrugged Clow off and pushed past the two magicians toward the kitchen.
"You do know how to be safe, don't you, Watanuki-kun?" Yuuko trilled after him. They could hear the loud clanging of pots and pans as Watanuki took his anger out on preparing breakfast. Clow grinned.
"Young couples hate living with their parents," he said smugly. Yuuko's eyebrow twitched. On one hand, it was a good jibe. On the other, there were implications in that sentence.
"Next time he'll think a little harder about his wishes, I think," she answered, with a satisfied smile, and by mutual agreement it was time to find the bottle.
