[Cardcaptor Sakura] I am a Dreamer (Syaoran/Sakura)
Title: I am a Dreamer
Fandom: Cardcaptor Sakura
Length: 306
Prompt: Icon prompt for
suppis_tenshi.
Pairing: Syaoran/Sakura
Other: n/a
Excerpt: She dreamed one night so vibrantly of the way it felt to hug him that when she woke she was reaching towards the ceiling, trying to touch him.
Having a long-distance relationship wasn't as hard as Sakura had initially thought it would be, though of course it wasn't easy either. She wrote to Syaoran, and they talked on the phone when they could. She thought about him so much that it was almost as if he never left, she told Tomoyo one day. Tomoyo just smiled.
"That's love," she said softly. "Sakura-chan is deeply in love."
And after that she dragged Sakura into one of her stranger costumes with the promise to send the pictures to Syaoran. Sakura found the idea terribly embarrassing, but after he came back she saw that he had kept one of them in his wallet. The oil of his fingerprints showed stronger with the passing time; he'd taken it out and looked at it often, she assumed.
The hardest part about dating him was when he had to leave after visits. She was Sakura, she would be strong, but she was always just a little down in the days after his plane returned to Hong Kong. She missed being able to hug him, to hold his hand, to see his scowl. There was something about presence that a letter or a call could never capture.
She dreamed one night so vibrantly of the way it felt to hug him that when she woke she was reaching towards the ceiling, trying to touch him. She was so disoriented that she was late out the door, and wasn't that the worst thing to do when you were starting a new school?
She sensed him before she saw him, but when she saw him, she had to stop and stare.
And when she was in his arms again, she realized it had been a prophetic dream-- one she didn't mind at all.
