[Anthropomor-Fic] Imaginary Pie (i/pi)

Title: Imaginary Pie
Fandom: ummmm Math?
Length: 107 words
Prompt: 3-Sentence Fic-a-thon: Mathematics, i/pi, "Be rational" "Get real"
Pairing: i/pi
Other: This is basically just an excuse to make math jokes.

Excerpt: The integers are a close-knit group, because they are countable, and that makes them all loved and special, or so they say.

The integers are a close-knit group, because they are countable, and that makes them all loved and special, or so they say; and the rational numbers are as inseparable as twins, the denominator always finishing the numerator's expressions.

Mathematics was not friendly to i or pi, except in certain specialized fields, and neither of them were kind to each other; the familiar argument always rang out between them, i's insistence that pi should be rational, pi's retort that i should just get real.

And no one suspected a thing until πi walked into the equation, and looked at its factors, and asked why mommy and daddy were fighting again.
