Note: SPOILERS for last night's episode. I blame this on [livejournal.com profile] angelfirenze, she and her interesting H/W/C OTP, lol...

Excerpt: ...When his night dreams were Wilson and Cuddy and Jimmy and Lisa and him, always him, in the middle, where he... where he belonged.

That was when it started, though none of them knew how. There was simply something different about their relationship afterward. And yeah, it was screwed up, but House went around without wearing his usual knowing smirk (for that particular reason, anyway), because he was in the middle of it.

Cuddy's lips on his, Wilson's arm on his chest. Breath, breath, breath, forward--

And his voice betrayed him, barking her name. It was like his Cuddy dream had said-- he could never sacrifice a patient for the sake of a moment's gratification. Not even the Cutthroat Bitch. Dammit.

That was when things started to fall apart-- when things started to unravel. When his night dreams were Wilson and Cuddy and Jimmy and Lisa and him, always him, in the middle, where he... where he belonged. And Jimmy still loved that other woman at this point, or he had fooled himself into believing it, in any case, and they were still several months shy of falling into bed together, the three of them, but it had begun.

They gave him life over and over again and finally House had noticed.
