Excerpt: Leela asks for the raygun, because someone has to save the world and Fry is still slouching on the couch, complaining that Apocalypse news has superseded his favorite cartoons.
When Leela asks for the raygun, because someone has to save the world and Fry is still slouching on the couch, complaining that Apocalypse news has superseded his favorite cartoons, the Professor hands her a beautiful object of green brushed chrome and artful function; the only problem is the fact that it seems to drip provolone from the barrel.
She asks if it will work and the old man replies, "Oh my yes; Leela, you can't be asking me to design a raygun that isn't powered by cheese-- you of all people should know enough history to understand that," and he blinks at her owlishly.
Leela scowls; "I know," she says, and then sighs wistfully, continuing, "I was just hoping for cheddar, because it has a little more bite."
