Merry Christmas from the Ichihara-Reed's (Clow/Yuuko)
Title: Merry Christmas from the Ichihara-Reed's
Fandom: Midian
Length: 460 words
Prompt: Christmas card fic for Ruby
Pairing: Clow/Yuuko established
Other: PG for implications. This will probably make no sense at all whatsoever if you're not in the game.
Excerpt: Clow chuckled, fingertips brushing her cheek, and said, "The mistletoe was your idea. And he only kissed your hand, anyway."
Yuuko watched lazily from the couch as Clow tucked the last gift under the tree. He turned back with a satisfied look on his face and spent a moment tending the fireplace before joining Yuuko on the couch, a complex maneuver that ended with her head in his lap and soft smiles on both faces.
"All prepared," Clow said, stroking Yuuko's hair. She leaned into his touch like a cat, but then sighed dramatically.
"Finally. It's been quite an evening. You really need to tell your Mini-Me to stop being so creepy."
Clow chuckled, fingertips brushing her cheek, and said, "The mistletoe was your idea. And he only kissed your hand, anyway."
She shuddered. "More than enough. Why is it that all of your most annoying traits went to that one?"
"Mischief," Clow answered, still sounding amused, "is one of the things you love about me."
"Is that so?" Yuuko's eyes had drifted shut, but she opened them to peer accusingly at him. His expression did not change. She shut her eyes again. "Not when it is used against me."
"A hazard of proximity, I should think," Clow said cheerfully. "Though why did you tell Watanuki that Eriol was my son?"
She giggled. "He made his own assumptions."
"You didn't correct him, of course."
"Of course," she returned, reaching up to brush a hand across his cheek. She opened her eyes again, grinning. "How else will he learn not to make assumptions? And actually, speaking of your more irritating self, he could manage his guardians a little more closely."
"Watanuki wasn't screaming more loudly than usual."
She gave him a look. He waved a hand before returning to his hairstroking.
"Ruby Moon is Ruby Moon. She thinks that magic is somewhat of a game. But I'll mention it to him. The bindings on Watanuki's magic will be coming undone here, after all. You should probably teach him how to use it."
"Good Clow," she purred, shifting to kiss him.
"I was hoping to be naughty," he answered, breath soft on her neck. "It's more fun than nice."
"I don't see any mistletoe around," she said with a smirk.
"I think I can find some, if necessary," he returned. "I thought you were tired of it."
"With just the two of us, it might be acceptable," she said, her grin still broad.
"Merry Christmas," Clow said, waving a hand to extinguish the fire.
They made it out of the room before any chance of traumatizing Santa Claus, but they were pretty certain that he came. There were more gifts under the tree, after all, and the brandy they'd left him was gone, and both Mokona swore they hadn't drank it.
It turned out to be a happy holiday.
