Making the Bed (Clow/Yuuko)

Title: Making the Bed
Fandom: [livejournal.com profile] polychromatic CLAMP crew
Length: 388 words
Prompt: [livejournal.com profile] poly_crack Kink Meme: Clow/Yuuko, spiderwebs.
Pairing: Clow/Yuuko
Other: Set in Poly, but here's the only background you need: Clow and Yuuko live together in a three-bedroom Victorian. And, well, established relationship. As such, PG for implications.

Excerpt: She stretched out on the bed, back arching. Without looking up from his cleaning, Clow said, "I just fixed the covers."

She found him eventually in the back bedroom, carefully cleaning spiderwebs out of the corners and from the top of the bookcase. The room had a stale feeling of unoccupancy. Their last roommate had left not long after Yuuko had arrived in the City. They'd never bothered to clear it out, between one thing and another.

She stretched out on the bed, back arching. Without looking up from his cleaning, Clow said, "I just fixed the covers."

"You can fix them again," she said lazily, watching him dust the webs away. The spiders had been busy in the time that the room had been unused.

"Do you want to incur a spider's grudge?" she asked after a moment. "You've seen Watanuki's eyes."

"Lovely, if a bit mismatched," Clow replied cheerfully. "Of course I don't want to incur any grudges. I asked them to leave, very politely."

"The spiders?" She lifted an eyebrow.

"No, the little people who painstakingly sewed these webs together. Of course the spiders."

He finished the corner he was working in and walked back down off the wall. She didn't say, "Show-off," but the challenge was in her eyes.

"Good idea," she said instead. "You're blind enough as it is. And I'm not donating half my eyesight to you."

"My glasses work well," he replied, unruffled. He sat down on the bed next to her and tangled a hand in her hair. He stroked it as it spread across the bedspread and then his hand traced up to cradle the back of her neck. She made a soft satisfied noise and shut her eyes.

"I can see how lovely you are, even from far away," he said sweetly, leaning over to kiss her cheek.

"You're going to mess up the bed you just made," she pointed out, lifting an arm to tease a finger down his neck and across his shoulder.

"We can make it again," he replied quickly, kissing her again, his lips lingering against her skin.

"What's this 'we'?" she said, laughing and pulling him down on top of her. Clow shrugged. He didn't mind making it again at all, not when she was pulling off his glasses and setting them carefully on the no-longer-dusty nightstand.

"I'll make it again," he replied, to placate her, and afterward, he did.
