Other: Shameless rewriting of canon Twilight scene.
Excerpt: "You really shouldn't do that to people," Luke said. "At least, not without giving them a hint coin."
"You really shouldn't do that to people," Luke said. "At least, not without giving them a hint coin."
"Do what?" Layton said, absently toying with the puzzle he'd doodled onto a spare napkin.
"Puzzle them like that. Flora will be thinking about that one for weeks." Luke smiled a little, anyway. He'd known the answer right off; it had been a puzzle they'd solved on their way to St. Mystere.
Layton looked up from his drawing, seeming confused.
"Oh, come on," Luke replied, rolling his eyes. "You have to know that not everyone has your solving skills."
Layton rested his chin on his hand, his eyes curious.
"I puzzle people?" he said incredulously.
"You haven't noticed? Don't you notice their confused faces?"
The professor toyed with the brim of his hat for a moment. "Do I puzzle you?"
"Frequently," Luke admitted.
At least he had hint coins of his own.
