Little kids dream about becoming famous, because in their heads they are the most important people in the world. It makes sense to them that they should be acknowledged for their greatness.

I didn't want any acknowledgment. They put us on Time, on Newsweek, on the front page of every paper. Suddenly we were famous, and it sucked.

I still get the letters, every week. They've slowed to a trickle, now, just a bag or two, but they're just so hard to read. They all start the same.

Help me, Cassie.

They've all got problems, now that the larger problem of alien invasion has been solved. And Marco, interview darling, pegged me as the compassionate one, so they write to me.
