Excerpt: Doumeki didn't stop eating, though he did sort of shrug.
"Do you HAVE to do that?" Watanuki fumed.
Doumeki didn't stop eating, though he did sort of shrug, which could be interpreted as to an inquiry to what Watanuki meant.
"Eating like that! You weren't born in a barn, were you?"
"Oh, Watanuki-kun," Himawari said, her laugh sweet, "Doumeki was born in the shrine. You know that."
"OF--" Watanuki caught himself, "of course I do. I just meant, he needs some manners."
Doumeki shrugged again and handed his bowl back to Watanuki.
"YOU ATE ALL OF THAT ALREADY?!"
"Watanuki-kun is such a wonderful cook," Himawari said, "that I am not at all surprised."
She took the bowl from Watanuki and filled it as he said, "Do you really think so?" A gratified flush spread over his face.
"But of course," she answered, handing the bowl back to Doumeki, who sort of nodded before he started eating again. Watanuki relaxed a little and poked at his own food.
"At least," he said after a while, the anger turned low, "give yourself time to taste it."
Doumeki looked up, met his eyes, and then ate a little slower.
