Excerpt: And then he'd finally started growing in other directions than up and realized that they had quite a lot in common, actually-- Touya, the moon, boyfriends that could be more stone-faced inexplicable than any man should be.

"He looks good in blue," she said, poking her head in the door, grinning, and she was gone before he'd even processed her words. Yukito blinked and absently adjusted his kimono coat while he processed her words. Then he smiled a little.

"Thank you," he said to her retreating back. He was sure she hadn't heard, but it didn't matter. She knew.

Kaho had helped him to get here more than he could have dreamed those years ago when he first bowed to her, knowing and hating what she had done to Touya. He'd thought at the time, full of youthful heart, that he would never be able to forgive her for what she'd done.

And then he'd finally started growing in other directions than up and realized that they had quite a lot in common, actually-- Touya, the moon, boyfriends that could be more stone-faced inexplicable than any man should be. He'd started talking to her at Sakura's wedding, and then he never really stopped, sending letters and emails. Touya laughed a little, but their friendship persisted.

And here she was at his wedding, and obviously she'd popped in to see the other groom. Of course, this was easy for her-- she'd gotten married two years ago and joked that she was already an "old hand" at this stuff-- but she didn't need to say anything complicated. Her presence was comforting enough.

He looks good in blue, hmm, Yukito thought, smiling a little, and he slipped out of the room, taking a deep breath, and then he took his place at the end of the aisle. She stood by his side, and Touya by his other, and all of his nervousness dissolved.
