Excerpt: "That's possibly the gayest thing you've ever done," Drake announced, throwing his jacket down on his bed and sitting down next to Josh.

When Drake came back from his date, Josh was sulking on their bedroom couch. And painting his toenails with clear polish.

"That's possibly the gayest thing you've ever done," Drake announced, throwing his jacket down on his bed and sitting down next to Josh.

Josh scowled, concentrating. "Mindy said it would stop them from breaking all the time. You know I hate pointy toenails."

"Do you do everything Mindy says?" Drake asked, irritated by the simple mention of her name.

Josh looked up and considered for a moment. "Usually," he conceded.

"If you weren't so whipped, I'd think you really were gay," Drake muttered, putting his feet up on the table and upsetting the nail polish bottle.

"Drake!" Josh protested, trying to catch it. "It was hard to get this. The cashier gave me a weird look. It was embarrassing." He set the bottle back down and finished his right foot, holding it up for inspection. Then he started painting his left toenails.

"Anyway, what would be the big deal if I were?" he continued.

"Hmm?" Drake said, paying attention to the television.

"If I were gay, Drake, listen to me once in a while," Josh said grumpily.

"That would be weird," Drake said. He grabbed Josh's nail polish. Josh sighed.

"Not any weird than this family," Josh said. "Give me the nail polish back."

"Not until you tell me if you are," Drake replied, standing up and holding the bottle out of Josh's reach.

"Why would it matter?" Josh asked, reaching for the bottle while trying not to smear the painting he'd already done. He couldn't reach.

"Because what if you were in love with me?" Drake said seriously. "Everyone falls for the Drake-man."

"Not everyone is swayed by your smart haircut and smooth talk, Drake. I know you better than anyone," Josh replied. "I couldn't fall for that, not for a second."

"Good point," Drake said, handing the polish back to Josh and sitting down. Josh resumed his painting and Drake focused on the TV for a minute.

"Josh?" he asked.

"Hmm?" Josh said, biting his tongue as he finished his left foot.

"I want that when you're done. Metrosexuality is in right now, you know. Chicks expect male pedicures," Drake said confidently.

He put his feet back up on the coffeetable and, in retrospect, was unsurprised when the bottle tipped and spilled onto the carpet.

He was surprised, however, when ten minutes later, Josh gave up sulking and kissed him.
