Winry goes back to Den, leaving class, and checks her all over, oiling the joints and studying the intricate layering of screws and sheet metal, the wedding of strength to pliability, and she finds no problems.

She reports this to her classmate and he spits at her feet again, muttering about abominations and robot dogs. The first time Winry is posed in front of Automail about to be inserted into a person, she is eight years wiser and she remembers the child and that day so long ago. After a moment, she spits to the side and begins to craft on an "abomination" that will give this other child the ability to walk. She thinks no more on it.
