Petty (Hotaru/Chibiusa)
Comm:
femslash100
Title: Petty
Author:
rhap_chan
Prompt: Periodic Table - #1, Hydrogen
Fandom: Sailor Moon
Pairing: Hotaru/Chibiusa
Rating: G
Word count: 160
A/N: Hydrogen is highly explosive-- like Hotaru's temper in this story.
Excerpt: Hotaru is kind, sweet, slow to anger, but a discussion involving the prince always seems to end in swift, petty disagreements.
Chibiusa isn't sure when she stopped talking about her prince to Hotaru, but there has been a distinct lack of Helios in their recent conversations. Hotaru is kind, sweet, slow to anger, but a discussion involving the prince always seems to end in swift, petty disagreements. Hotaru becomes silent and snappish at turns, and because Chibiusa doesn't like to fight, they don't talk about Helios anymore.
They are sitting in a comfortable silence, working on homework, and Chibiusa is mulling the issue of Hotaru and Helios over in her head. They thorny psychology is much more interesting than her algebra.
Hotaru is stealing glances at Chibiusa over her own homework, her sooty eyelashes half-lidded, almost flirty. Chibiusa grins without thinking and then blinks suddenly.
Perhaps she is simply sad that she doesn't have a prince of her own, Chibiusa thinks. She doesn't say it out loud though.
She doesn't think that maybe Hotaru doesn't want a prince, at all.
