He transfers his rage at the spirits onto Doumeki, she thinks. She is surprised that he has no other obvious psychoses, considering his problem.

It has been years since spirits followed her like they follow Watanuki, but she still remembers those early decades with displeasure. Watanuki protests loudly, but she had taken to drink. It hadn't taken the spirits away, but they were less offensive blurred.

And then she is sad for a moment, hoping that Watanuki won't make the same mistake she did, and fall too hard for the person who could wipe away the problem. That stupid magician.

But the scary part was the way that Yue was gazing into his creator's eyes, with longing and need, and the answering look on Clow's face, of that same need and satisfaction.
