Summary: Touya remembers what he and Kaho were, but she reminds him of her prediction. Would he really give up Yuki to hold her again?

"I would give anything to simply hold you again," he said quietly. His words were swallowed by the reverent silence of the shrine. This was a bad place to make such serious vows.

"Would you give up him?" I said. I hated to have to be the know-it-all, but it seemed to be my lot in life. People shared their secrets and then trusted me to keep them safe. Hitsuzen was key, apparently, the key that kept the relationship between this boy and I. Fate ended us, and I did not regret my new love, but I did regret hurting him.

Something shifted in his eyes as he shuffled back through the words I gave him before parting and the ones I shared now. He was a bright one, Touya. Sakura needed more hints, but Touya took what he could get and made the connections.

"No," he said finally, running a hand through his hair. "Still--"

"It was nice to see you again, Touya," I said. My body remembered what it was like to be held by him, a young man already taller and stronger than I at the age of fifteen. My new love could never hold me like Touya did, with a soft, certain grip. He was much too English to admit a dependence on another person, and much too Clow.

He wanted to say something else, but he thought of Yukito again and held his tongue, walking off into the morning to the school. I stayed a while longer and swept the shrine again.

Hitsuzen-- fate, inevitability-- there was nothing else. Well, nothing else but memory.
